Intelligent Tension Monitor

The cable tension and limit switch monitor uses a load cell to measure the vertical component of the force applied to a bearing mounted roller. The device should be installed so that the cable passes over the roller at a small angle depending on the expected load and cable’s bending radius specification. Load cells are available with 10, 25, 50, and 100 pound ranges. The user can watch the tension under field conditions on a bar-graph display and set the thresholds for each with button presses. There are separate inputs for upper and lower limit switches. There is a user settable delay for the limit switches and one for the tension values to debounce the inputs. The monitor can be integrated directly with the intelligent winch whereby parameters and tension data are accessible through the interface.
